Minimum eligibility conditions for the Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET):
I. Age:- There is no upper age limit to apply for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
II. Educational Qualification:
1. For Trained Graduate Teachers (Arts):
a. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
b. B.A./B.Com. with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
c. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
d. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.A.Ed.
OR
e. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education.
a. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
b. B.A./B.Com. with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

4. For Shastri:
Shastri with 50% marks from an institution/University recognized by H.P. Government.
Shastri with 50% marks from an institution/University recognized by H.P. Government.
5. For Language Teacher:
BA with Hindi as an elective subject from a recognized University with 50% marks in Hindi or its equivalent.
OR
The candidates who have passed Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) followed by BA Examination in English and one additional subject may be treated as equivalent to BA with Hindi for appointment to the post of Language Teacher provided the candidates have secured 50% marks in Prabhakar examination.
OR
M.A. (Hindi) with 50% marks from a recognized University.
BA with Hindi as an elective subject from a recognized University with 50% marks in Hindi or its equivalent.
OR

Relaxations in minimum
eligibility:-Relaxation upto 5% in the minimum eligibility criteria of
marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste
and Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes & Physically
handicapped candidates.
Candidates appearing in final professional examination can also apply but they shall have to full-fill minimum eligibility conditions on the date of TET examination falling which they will not be allowed to take the test. Minimum qualifying marks:- The minimum qualifying marks in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is 60%.

For TGT(Non-Medical) 30 questions of child psychology and development, pedagogy, teaching learning processes. 30 questions of General awareness including Himachal Pradesh, current affairs & environmental studies. 30 questions of Mathematics 60 questions of Physics and Chemistry. For TGT(Medical) 30 questions of child psychology and development, pedagogy, teaching learning processes. 30 questions of General awareness including Himachal Pradesh, current affairs & environmental studies. 60 questions Botany and Zoology. 30 questions of Chemistry. |
Standard of TET | The test items on child psychology, development, pedagogy and teaching learning processes will focus on educational psychologyof teaching and learning relevant to the age group 11 to 14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of good facilitator of learning. The questions in the other sections will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for classes VI to VIII, but their ability standard as well as linkages could be up-to 10+2 level of HP Board of School Education. |
